Registration for INTERSECT is open, and we hope to see you all for this exciting event happening October 20-22, 2020, in Knoxville, TN. But did you know INTERSECT attendees typically receive funding from their agency or organization to attend the event?
It’s true! Attendees get reimbursed by showcasing the training value of the event. In 2019, we hosted more than 60 hours of training classes over three days. INTERSECT is meticulously planned to ensure attendees leave the event armed with new expertise and solutions to improve cities in their communities, urban or rural.
In the spirit of GRIDSMART simplicity, we outlined INTERSECT benefits for you to share with your supervisor below. Don’t forget to highlight that GRIDSMART provides the registration fee and all eight meals throughout the event!
“I am requesting approval to further my technical expertise by attending INTERSECT, the ultimate training conference for transportation professionals. INTERSECT takes place on October 20-22, 2020, at GRIDSMART Headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee.
INTERSECT’s mission is to train and educate technicians, engineers, and transportation leaders. I will work directly with technical experts during advanced training classes that feature hands-on, interactive learning activities. At the conclusion of INTERSECT, I will have earned TARP and PDH credits that I need to maintain my IMSA certifications.
Most importantly, I will bring actionable solutions and expertise that can be deployed locally to improve our cities’ streets. Based on the training agenda, INTERSECT would specifically improve my knowledge in the areas of fiber installation, cybersecurity, utilizing data to improve signal timing, network troubleshooting, and controller operations.
I am aware that budgets can be tight. Fortunately, GRIDSMART sponsors registration fees to empower traffic professionals the opportunity to participate and learn. GRIDSMART also provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner for attendees, so the only fees I’m responsible for are hotel and travel.
I’m ready to learn and bring back solutions that will help our community. INTERSECT Registration launches on May 16 and is limited to 300 attendees. Please approve my request to ensure my registration spot.
Thank you for your consideration.”
